Our Philosophy
At Wald, we cultivate a nurturing and adventurous bi-lingual learning environment for children aged 1-5, fostering a deep connection with nature. Our dedicated educators strive to inspire a lifelong love of learning through imaginative play, hands-on exploration, and meaningful engagement with the natural world.
We recognize the importance of holistic development, emphasizing not only cognitive growth but also social, emotional, and physical well-being. Our forest-based curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, encourage resilience, and instill a sense of wonder in the hearts of our young learners. Through daily outdoor experiences, guided by the seasons and the rhythms of nature, children are encouraged to develop a profound respect for the environment, cultivating a lifelong appreciation for sustainability.

Discovering the Forest School approach completely changed the way I viewed education. I fell in love with its values and knew I wanted to create a place where children could grow up with the freedom to explore, play and connect deeply with the natural world. I was fortunate to begin this journey alongside two incredible women who shared the same vision, and together we founded Wald. Inspired by the educational approaches that resonate most with us, we have created a learning environment where childhood can be unhurried, joyful and filled with wonder. At Wald, we strive to offer children meaningful experiences in nature that nurture curiosity, confidence, resilience, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.

Becoming a mother opened my eyes to the importance of outdoor experiences for children. For starters, I found it much easier being outside than entertaining Matteo with some bricks on our living room floor. When the search for an educational path started I found limited options. And the amazing projects that already exist, were rightly so, already fully booked! From my personal wish to find the right place for Matteo, came Wald. Now we just need to have our bunnies, chickens and plant our veggies! I can’t wait what Wald has in store for us and being able to confidently see my own child explore every corner of the world.
